Dogma Has Good Karma

Dogma are the first band on King Recordings, a label affiliated with Def Jam, yet theyıre hardly rappers like Def Jam artists Public Enemy of LL Cool J. "People are still trying to put things into categories," says Dogma singer Phil Allocco, who would, if pressed, put his quartet into the "hard Rock" category. The band, whose CD was out in February, is now gearing up for the release of there first video, for the song "Cancer," on MTV, and a tour to follow. Dogma landed the same director who helmed clips for Bush and Metallica to direct "Cancer," ("that was a coup!") and the result, says Allocco, is a moody piece inspired partially by the flick "Jacobıs Ladder." The band leaves for tour shortly (Allocco, no stranger to the road, was formerly in the band Law & Order), with dates in Boston, Maine and the legendary CBGBıs in New York City.
